Because Treehouse is so beloved, I will post about the entire experience at the location later. This post will focus on the course.
The Course at Tree House is a par 33 that consists of one par five. The other 8 holes are split between par 3s and par 4s. The routing is broken into two different sections. Holes 1,2,8,9 are separated from hole Nos. 3-7 by a long path bordered by water on one side and houses on the other.
Holes 3-7 are on the more interesting piece of the land. It's all rather flat, Holes 5 and 6 traverse a small hill, providing a level of interest and some challenge. A small pond between holes 4 and 7 also adds a bit of spice on the tee shots.
Holes 5 and 6 are probably the best holes of the bunch because of the change of elevation. Hole 5 is a slight dogleg left, and players can't see the small green’s surface on their approach shot.
Hole 6, a downhill par 5, also has a charming tree in a bunker about 150 yards from the green. Pretty sick.
The course could be quickly improved with the removal of some trees. The tee shot on hole 4 is very tight due to an alley of trees. There is a cool maple guarding the fourth green, another solid feature, mainly because it's about 20 feet tall.
The greens, which had been punched recently, were very good. Even with the remnants of aeration holes, they were running quick (just not all that true). The greens, overall, are very good. They are varying sizes with some interior slopes that make putting engaging.
The four par 3s are just different enough. The second is the longest, and the 9th is the shortest. Most players will hit 3 or four different clubs on those holes.
With all the water on and around the course, it's understandable that the course has had to close a couple times due to flooding. However, the course in early-October was in good shape. There were some soft spots, but the rough was lush, and the fairways were soft but mostly green.
Overall, I enjoyed my round. It certainly isn't going to knock anyone's socks off. But it's an easy walk with some good holes that will likely get better in the coming years.
